Do you think you are too late for the zumba craze? Think twice? If your children can do it, why can't you? We even have an edge over them. Basically the zumba workout is a chachacha dance step modified to make it more aerobic. Who doesn't love the chacha? Almost everybody our age knows how to do it. And the music, WOW! It's so good. Barely two weeks ago, my two girls introduced me to the zumba dance workout and the bug hit me right away. Actually you wouldn't feel like you're working out. When you start doing it, you just can't stop. We just don't realize it but it's like hitting two birds with one stone. While we're dancing our fats away, we're likewise tightening our bond with the children. Doing it together as a family makes a lot of fun. They enjoyed it very much watching me execute the steps correctly and all the more if I do it incorrectly. It always feels good to be doing things together especially now that everybody seems to be getting busier and busier everyday. Why put off for tomorrow the things you can do today? Why wait for arthritis to set in before you do it? So come on, don your zumba outfits! Sweat it out now.
. But be sure to wear a comfortable worksout shoes and socks though to avoid foot injury, as in any type of workout or exercise. Never use slippers as you will be doing lots of swirling and side stepping. So, what are you waiting for? The sooner you do it the better for your health. You can do it at home (for family bonding) or in the office (to bond with your officemates). A thirty minute workout can do a lot to refresh your mind and envigorate/enhance your efficiency. IT'S NOT TOO LATE!

Make Your Kids Love You More: Fly Kites, Climb Mountains: "Why do companies organize team building activities for their employees? It is because the importance of having a cohesive team in an or..."

What are you waiting for? The beauty of nature doesn't come to your doorstep. You have to leave your abode and go out to admire it. Don't keep on postponing. It might be too late. Grab every opportunity. One was presented to us when we were required to have a tree planting activity in compliance with a national call for a greening program. It was so fun, what with the mountain trekking that lasted 30 minutes to reach the planting site. An occasional slip here and there on the wet path made it all the more enjoyable and fun. It was a real encounter with nature indeed! The place is so serene and quiet. The only sound that we heard were the chirping of birds and the cry of crickets in the bush. Some members of the group (those that have been doing regular walking, I envy them) find the experience as "peanuts" while the rest had their tongues out and were already grasping for breath after doing only 1/4 of the distance, pitiful! Muscle pain in the leg was the common complaint the morning after. But the health benefits that we derived from it cannot be ignored, not to mention the bonding among us office mates as well as with the other offices. Our only misgiving is that we forgot to bring extra T-shirts to dry us out.
As an afterthought, I have come to realize the incomparable beauty of God’s creation. On the way to the site, we passed by very big and tall trees that must have been there several years ago. Their roots are so big and established such that they sprout out of the ground already. While we were trekking, one of us (our head of office) sentimentally remembered the poem “The Tree” and recited it. What a beautiful poem by Joyce Kilmer indeed. Really, the ambiance of the protected rain forest is grossly different from the polluted environment in the city. One can abundantly enjoy its serene freshness and inhale/exhale to his heart’s delight without fear of taking in toxic chemicals, one aspect that surely makes me jealous of the local folks.
Why don’t we organize such activity for our family? Why spare them the experience? A family picnic to the mountains can be exciting. Come on, gear everybody up for a nature trip. Fill those backpacks up and have a family day-out. Believe me, you’ll never regret it! But don’t forget the camera. Who’s gonna bet with me that no sooner than you set foot on your doorstep will the children start uploading those pics in the computer and their smiling faces in wacky shots will all be splattered in Facebook.
